Touching the Sacred Feminine Within…and Without
A Co-Creative* Three-Day Women’s Retreat

Led by Mare Cromwell

Thursday, July 21, 5:30pm – Sunday, July 24, 2pm

Claymont Retreat Center

Charles Town, West Virginia

Come, join women who run with the wolves or aspire to… Come homemakers, homeowners, homebodies and others. Come be in community for a weekend to touch our Sacredness, our woundedness, our strengths and beauty. Come celebrate our connection with the Earth and our innate wisdom to guide us together as we weave a web of support and compassion to hold us in these troubling times. More than anything, come and have fun and play with some incredible women at a beautiful retreat center where you can shed your worldly troubles and be in the moment of joy with each other in a safe sacred space.

We will meditate. We will dance. We will share and paint our toenails colors that we never dared do before. We will walk the bare earth barefoot and allow ourselves to sink deeply into a connection with the Earth that we never knew before. It is time. It is time for us to touch our Sacredness and live our lives from that beautiful place. The Earth is calling us to do this now.

More Retreat Details:
This three-day retreat will be laced with experiential, fun, and co-creative sessions to encourage participants to open up their senses and awarenesses. We will delve deep into the Sacred Feminine through silence and discussion and communing with the wisdom of the natural world. Journal writing and drawing will be encouraged along with outright silliness to celebrate our existence on this amazing planet, Earth, in these exciting times. The retreat will be grounded within an Earth-based spirituality that is predicated on the reality that the Earth has loved us into being and is yearning for us to reciprocate this love back to Her.

Come prepared to laugh, create, connect and be shifted within yourself and your relationship with Earth Mother and other wise women in your life, including the living world around you. Especially the standing people… the Trees! ;~)

About Claymont Retreat Center
Claymont is a year-round 350-acre retreat center nestled in the Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia. Located just 1.25 hrs from Baltimore and Washington D.C., the center’s country lanes, fresh water springs, and winding paths create a tranquil setting for study, relaxation and contemplation. The shared housing is comfortable and natural setting conducive to deep spiritual work.

*Co-Creative Costs:
I recognize that these are tough economic times for most of us. Thus the costs of the retreat will be set up in the following way:

Minimum Fee - $147 (this only covers the rental of the Mansion and a daily kitchen fee per person, not other workshop planning costs - ads, graphic designers, etc.)

Suggested Fee - $175 plus a donation amount of your choosing to Mare for her efforts in coordinating the event.

What the fees above will not cover are the food and supplies (art, etc) for the retreat, and this is where we can really start to have fun, be creative and create a glorious community of giving Wise Women for the weekend. Everyone who attends will be asked to choose a meal category (breakfast, lunch or dinner) and bring enough food for 25 people in that category. We will have full access to the wonderful Mansion kitchen (but not their condiments, oils, etc.) for storing and preparing our meals. We’ll organize into Wise Women Circles for each meal preparation and clean-up. This will allow us to celebrate our bounty and kitchen alchemy together, and essentially make the retreat more rich and cost effective simultaneously (interesting play on words there!).

As for art supplies and other fun accoutrements for the retreat, we’ll ‘potluck’ that also to cut costs and see what wonderful gifts manifest from each of us in bringing some amazing creative energies and activities together. I’m totally trusting this whole process and this retreat will be like nothing I’ve ever led or attended. And honestly, I think pulling it together like this will be a magical weaving of our gifts, energies and Sacred Feminine aspects in ways that I’m not sure any of us could have imagined. What fun!

*Co-Creative Getting People in the Door
And what will really make this retreat happen also is if we all help with the promotion of it. If we can’t get enough numbers to attend, then I will need to cancel the event (and possibly lose my deposit with Claymont.). So if everyone interested in attending downloads and prints off the flyer and disseminates it through email, hard copies at your favorite yoga centers, coffee houses, Unitarian Churches, family barbeques (kinda kidding on the barbeque venue option ;~), etc… to help recruit other incredible Wise Women, then we can really make this happen and have an incredible retreat experience.

Deposit of $65 required to reserve space.

In the event of a cancellation, refunds will be made as follows:

  • Any cancellation made up to 15 days prior to the retreat (prior to July 6, 2011), registrants will be refunded all but a $25 administrative fee.
  • Any cancellation made less than 15 days prior to the retreat will not be refunded the $65 deposit.
